Related account deactivation: explain the relationship, not a guess

Start with what you actually know about ownership, access, and account history. Do not claim to know Amazon’s detection method.

What Amazon’s multiple-account policy says

Amazon’s seller code of conduct says a seller may maintain one Seller Central account per region unless there is a legitimate business need for another account and all accounts are in good standing. It also says Amazon may deactivate selling accounts when another account is not in good standing. This is more precise than saying multiple accounts are always prohibited.

A related account deactivation notice may refer to an account you operate, previously operated, recognize through a business relationship, or do not recognize. Those situations require different factual explanations. Read the account name and instructions in your notice carefully; a matching name alone is not a complete ownership history.

Do not present guesses about an IP address, a device, an agency, or a household as a confirmed reason Amazon linked accounts. The notice may not reveal its detection basis. Describe documented relationships and known access instead of asserting a technical explanation you cannot verify.

Build an ownership and access chronology

Create a private account map before preparing an Amazon account suspension appeal. List the accounts you know about, who owned or operated them, when the relationship existed, and what changed. Distinguish ownership, user access, employment, and a service-provider relationship rather than treating them as the same thing.

  • Keep the original notification, marketplace, named account, and all prior responses together.
  • Gather genuine company, ownership, transfer, or separation records if they are relevant to the relationship described.
  • Document what access an employee, contractor, former partner, or agency actually had and when that access changed.
  • If you operate another account, check its current status and the actions Amazon requests there; do not conceal a recognized relationship.

Choose between a supported explanation and a supported dispute

If the related account is yours, explain that accurately and address the instructions concerning its status. A general promise to be more careful does not answer a notice asking you to resolve an issue on a recognized account. Do not open another selling account to get around the restriction.

If a relationship ended, explain the chronology and identify records that support the change. Ending access and ending ownership are different claims. State what each document demonstrates and avoid suggesting that one agreement guarantees Amazon will remove a relationship.

If you do not recognize the named account, say what you can truthfully confirm and what you cannot. Review your genuine business history before making absolute statements such as “no association has ever existed.” You may need clarification through the support or appeal route shown in Seller Central. An explanation can remain clear without inventing a cause.

Prepare a point-by-point response to the latest notice. If an earlier appeal contained an error, identify and correct it rather than silently replacing the story. Keep copies of the submitted facts so later responses do not contradict them.

Avoid evasion and unsupported claims

The practical goal is a coherent record of the relationship, not an elaborate technical theory. Do not submit altered agreements, invented termination letters, or manufactured evidence of separation.

  • Buying access to another account, changing identity details, or opening a new account to bypass a restriction.
  • Copying someone else’s explanation of why accounts were linked and presenting it as your own evidence.
  • Claiming that changing a device or network automatically resolves the policy concern.
  • Denying a documented ownership or access relationship instead of explaining it honestly.

When a letter helps

InstantPOA can help turn your known account history and completed actions into an editable AI-assisted explanation. It cannot discover hidden account links, remove a connection in Amazon’s systems, fix another account, or verify ownership documents.

Complete the intake with the named concern, your actual relationship, previous appeal history, and unresolved questions. Review the draft against the notice and your records. AI may introduce inaccuracies, and no related-account appeal service can guarantee Amazon’s decision. InstantPOA is independent of Amazon and does not represent you.

Questions sellers ask

Are two Amazon seller accounts always forbidden?

No. Amazon’s current code of conduct describes legitimate business need and good-standing conditions. Read the policy for your region and the instructions in your own notice rather than assuming a universal ban.

Should I say the link was caused by Wi-Fi or a shared computer?

Only describe facts you actually know. Using a shared resource is different from knowing that it caused Amazon’s account relationship decision. Do not present an unverified detection theory as evidence.

Can a POA unlink the accounts?

A POA is a written explanation, not a technical unlinking service. Amazon may require account-status changes or relationship evidence. Drafting alone does not establish that those requirements have been met.
